The New Norm of My Life

As my life changes the life of those I love changes too. I am not the center of their world, they are the center of mine.

She's Gone

Suzy passed away on the first of March at around 4:00 in the morning. She spent only the last couple of days confined to her bed, and prior to that needed help getting around the house for about a week. So although it is sad, and hard to believe that she is gone, some comfort can be taken in the knowledge that she didn't spend weeks or months stuck in the bed. A while back, she had asked me if I would be comfortable with her dying in the house rather than a hospital or some other place. I wouldn't have had it any other way. She had privacy, and the comfort of her own bed.

I didn't want it to be true, so after Darren's email I checked Suzy's blog. Selfishly I know that all the pioneering treatments that Suzy undertook will help those with MCL who come after us, but I still deeply wish that medical science had been a few years ahead of us, in order that Suzy might not have been the risk taker.
From All of us with with MCL, our heart felt prayers to Suzy's family, from a world wide MCL Family

Darren and family, my heartfelt condolences to you. I "met" Suzy at Lifetime Moments and though we never met in person, she touched my heart with her courage and positive outlook. She was a beautiful person, inside and out.
